<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>The Wet Tropics WHA Special Management Area is a scenic amenity layer tool created for consideration of amenity impacts of the Wet Tropics WHA from the development of windfarms. It delineates a 5km buffer zone around the WHA. FNQ is home to two world heritage areas (WHA): the Wet Tropics WHA and the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) WHA. The Wet Tropics is one of the most significant bioregions in the world and supports the highest level of biodiversity of any region in Australia, with more than 3,300 species of plants (700 of which are endemic to the area) and more than 700 species of vertebrate animals (including at least 88 species found nowhere else on earth).</SPAN></SPAN></P><P /><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN>The Wet Tropics WHA – Special Management Area is recognised as an area of high scenic amenity for State Code 23: Wind farm development, and wind farms in this area are assessed against the scenic amenity performance outcomes of that code. The mapping does not imply suitability, preference or approval for development, which remains subject to detailed assessment and compliance with applicable statutory requirements. This map should be used in conjunction with the copyright information and mapping disclaimer on the inside cover of this publication.</SPAN></P><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN /></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
