This is an open data map service hosting spatial\ndata representing State development area boundaries and associated precincts.\nState development areas are specialist planning areas created under the\nSection 77 of the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971.\nTheir creation promotes economic development and addresses areas of market\nfailure in the development of industrial land and multi-user infrastructure\ncorridors in Queensland by: \\- providing guidance and development certainty to\nindustry \\- controlling development in a way that is considerate of existing\nindustry and surrounding development \\- protecting environmental values in the\nregion \\- ensuring an effective development assessment process. The department\nis responsible for the planning, establishment and ongoing management of state\ndevelopment areas throughout Queensland.
