The purpose of the data is to identify the land area used for environmentally relevant activities of Intensive animal feedlotting (cattle and sheep), Pig keeping and Poultry farming as described under the Environmental Protection Regulation 2019

The spatial dataset is maintained by the Intensive Livestock Unit within Agri-Business Policy and Industry Development, which is based on attributes extracted from their current database. The Natural Assets Policy and Planning GIS team review the dataset on a monthly basis before publishing to the public.
Intensive Livestock Unit team's internal database
The Agri-Business Policy and Industry Development team manually draws new polygons in a web app feature layer when a new EA application has been approved or update the existing EA holders attributes when amended applications has been approved. The Natural Assets Policy and Planning team review the dataset on a monthly basis before publishing to the public.
