Matters of state environmental significance (MSES) are defined in the glossary of the State Planning Policy 2017 (SPP). MSES mapping is indicative only of the natural values and areas that are defined as MSES in the SPP. Where there is an inconsistency between MSES mapping and the data source, the data source prevails.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN>This dataset is created by extracting and combining \u2018marine national park\u2019, \u2018conservation park\u2019, \u2018scientific research\u2019, \u2018preservation\u2019 and \u2018buffer\u2019 zones in the 'Great Barrier Reef coast zoning' and 'Moreton Bay zoning' datasets. <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>It is noted there is currently no spatial representation for the Great Sandy Marine Park, which is also a declared State marine park under the Marine Parks Act 2004 and therefore also MSES.
