<statement>Version 2.0 – 08/05/2014: Version 2.0 was the initial release. The record database used to develop the Flora Survey Trigger Map for Clearing Protected Plants in Queensland - Version 2.0 (released 08/05/2014) was derived from a list of plant species classified as EVNT under the Nature Conservation (Wildlife Management) Regulation 2006. Records were extracted and processed from corporate databases: WildNet (including Herbrecs – 21/04/2014); Corveg (01/04/2014). Additional records were provided by: Biodiversity Planning Assessment and Aquatic Conservation Assessment workshops; flfa_v4_1 (a previous statewide database developed in 2005); Local governments (Ipswich City Council – 05/2013, Gold Coast City Council – 11/11/2013, and Logan City Council - 2013). Point records were buffered by 2km radius for the final product.
Version 3.0 – Jan 2015, DRAFT NOT released.
Version 4.0 – 28/08/2015: This dataset of High risk areas is derived from the list of plant species classified as EVNT under the Nature Conservation (Wildlife Management) Regulation 2006 and information about where these EVNT plants are known to be present. Records were extracted and processed from corporate databases: WildNet (including Herbrecs – 14/08/2015); Corveg (02/07/2015). Additional records provided by: Biodiversity Planning Assessment and Aquatic Conservation Assessment workshops; flfa_v4_1 (a previous statewide database developed in 2005); Local governments (Ipswich City Council – 05/2013, Gold Coast City Council – 11/11/2013, and Logan City Council - 2013); Melaleuca irbyana records obtained from Tim Ryan (QLD Herbarium) on 13/02/2015. Point records were buffered by 2km radius for the final product.
Version 4.0 incorporates changes to the conservation class of 84 flora species that were made on 28 August 2015 and of 81 flora species that were made on 12 December 2014.
Version 4.1 – 30/09/2016: This dataset of High risk areas is derived from the list of plant species classified as EVNT under the Nature Conservation (Wildlife Management) Regulation 2006 and information about where EVNT plants are known to be present. Version 4.1 reflected a point release version. The existing version 4.0 records dataset released in August 2015 was refined by the deletion of 161 Herbrecs records that were no longer considered valid records:
• 66 records were no longer in the Herbrecs database;
• 94 records were determined to have either an invalid or pre 1950 collection year; • 1 record was determined to have a precision greater than 2000m;
Other changes (not deletions) are as follows:
• 98 records had precision updated to 100m. This makes no difference to the trigger map for these records.
• 37 valid records had a correction to collection year. This makes no difference to the trigger map for these records.
Point records were buffered by 2km radius for the final product.
Version 5.0 – 11/05/2017: This dataset of High risk areas is derived from the list of plant species classified as EVNT under the Nature Conservation (Wildlife Management) Regulation 2006 and information about where EVNT plants are known to be present. Records were extracted and processed from corporate databases: Herbrecs (03/11/2016); Corveg (09/2016); WildNet (04/11/2016). Additional records were provided by: Biodiversity Planning Assessment and Aquatic Conservation Assessment workshops; flfa_v4_1 (a previous statewide database developed in 2005); Local governments (Ipswich City Council – 05/2013, Gold Coast City Council – 11/11/2013, and Logan City Council - 2013); Melaleuca irbyana records obtained from Tim Ryan (QLD Herbarium) on 13/02/2015. • Duplicate records were removed. Duplicates are defined as the same species with the same coordinates (to 4 decimal places) and the same precision. In such cases, the most recent record was retained.
Areas where CEVNT plants are likely to be present: are areas that have highly suitable habitat for at least one CEVNT species. Areas of highly suitable habitat were determined for 73 Critically Endangered/Endangered species using:
• MAXENT species distribution modelling software, records of high validity and precision (minimum 10 species records) and a high logistic threshold (75% probability) (Modelled potential habitat for selected threatened species – Queensland, v2 extracted from QSpatial in 2023 (Laidlaw, M.J. and Butler, D.W. 2021)), or
• Core habitat areas for Melaleuca irbyana identified through expert defined habitat suitability models (Biodiversity Assessment Team, Qld Herbarium, DESI, 2023).
National Park, National Park Scientific, National Park CYPAL and Conservation Park: were extracted from “Protected Areas of Queensland” (QSpatial) on 01/06/2024 (DESI).
Highly vegetated/natural/semi-natural areas: are areas mapped as remnant vegetation (Remnant and preclearing regional ecosystem mapping, version 13.1, 2024, Queensland Herbarium and Biodiversity Science), regrowth vegetation (High value regrowth, version 13.1, 2024, Queensland Herbarium and Biodiversity Science), wetlands (Queensland Wetland Data Version 6 – Wetland Areas 2019, Queensland Herbarium and Biodiversity Science) and Category A areas under the Vegetation Management Act 1992 (Regulated Vegetation Management Map - version 7.04, Queensland Department of Resources). </srcDesc>
